How do we lose weight easily? Can it even be done?
I started learning everything about podcasting, YouTubing, and writing a blog at the last part of 2019, and for all of 2021 so far – don’t ask what happened in 2020.
While I was learning, I found out something most of you probably already knew: there are a LOT of con-men out there.
And they are all ready to hand you the secrets of life and how to lose weight easily in exchange for all your money.
Being exposed to all that garbage was actually really inspiring for me, in the weirdest way.
And I can’t think of anyone better to share my weirdness with than you!
What Does Losing Weight Easily Mean?
This is a play on the title of the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. That infamous self-improvement book, admired by some and vilified by others, was published in 1937.
And yet, it is still relevant today.
That was 84 years ago as of 2021, and I feel old now.
That book covers the 13 common principles Hill found trending among the millionaires of his day.
He interpreted these principles as a guidebook for us common folk to elevate ourselves.
But in doing earned the label of either crazy genius or con-artist. It all depends on your point of view.
I always aim for a positive attitude spiced up with a healthy helping of skepticism.
So, let’s assume the point of view of “Spicy Positive Intent” from here going forward, and give Hill the label of crazy genius.
In this specific post, we will check out what all the principles are, along with a quick summary.
In the following posts in this series, we’ll dive deeper into each one and how it relates specifically to how to lose weight without effort.
That’ll keep this from needing a TLDR (too long, didn’t read) section.

You’ve got to want it, so bad, that it’s almost an obsession. The desire must be so great, that when your feet meet the fire the first time, the second time, or the millionth time, you don’t turn back.
Trust the process, guys. If you believe it, you can achieve it (oops, that’s a quote from Principle 5. They are all interdependent, though, so it’s all good).
Don’t bad mouth yourself to yourself. Your brain is always working on solving problems, so make sure you only introduce problems in a way that gets you a positive solution, not a negative one.
There is so much information out there. You need to first learn it, then second, figure out what to do with it in order to get any value out of it.
Life imitates art, so start drawing. Basically, vision boards are important.
These eyebrows happen by appointment, not by accident. And, if I shave one off by accident, then I probably need to course correct.
Get over your decision paralysis.
Giving up just means you’ll have to start at the beginning again, but at a much later time. So, meet yourself in the future with something to be proud of, even if all you have to show is that you didn’t give up on yourself.
If you want to go fast, go alone. Go far? Go with someone else. But, if you want to go far, fast, go with someone who has already been there.
Principle 10: Transmutation
Get on my wavelength and ride the high vibes, stop being a stick in the mud and then constantly complain about how you’re not going anywhere.
Let’s assume the point of view of “Spicy Positive Intent” from here going forward, and BE a crazy genius, too.
Principle 11: Subconscious Mind
A.K.A Unconscious Competency, A.K.A Mastery. This is all about doing all the other things, all of the time, without thinking consciously about it.
There’s no detox, hack, or tip that you can shortcut yourself into on this one. And weight loss surgery isn’t the easy road here, either.
This principle requires doing real work on all the other principles, and then this one just… happens.
Principle 12: The Brain
Think and Lose Weight Easily. As soon as I unleash my Brain, all the other principles fall into place because I’ve mastered principle 11.
Things just start happening for me, like magic… It’s true. I’ve lost 10 lbs in April and I’m not really trying. I literally had Starbucks for breakfast, and am going to eat Taco Bell for dinner, and I’ll keep losing weight. Yep, this is my life now. Humble brag?
Nah… hardcore brag, we should call it what it is. Let’s do this for you, too.
Principle 13: Sixth Sense
Legitimate philosophical stuff, that I’d love to get really nerdy with you on, so I hope you read all the way to Principle 13!!
Summary of how to lose weight easily
Living authentically means we also give attention to the bad, not just the good. (It’s why I chose the brand name This Authentic Life.
Why I settled on it, though, actually has to do with splitting firewood. I’ll tell you why one day. But there’s an info nugget to add to your Trove of Trivia stuff you’ll probably never use and definitely didn’t ask for…)
If you’ve read my “The Hero’s Journey” series, a lot of this may start to sound familiar. It should. It’s the same stuff, just repackaged. It’s all the same steps pointing to how to lose weight easily.
Wait, what? I know… it’s weird. But we don’t all learn the same things from the same sources.
I learned that in roller derby, when one teacher could show me the exact same moves as another teacher, but the way the other teacher did it is what stuck and caused that “Aha” moment.
That’s what’s going on here, and forever more, until it sticks for you, keep learning everything you can. So, if this one doesn’t resonate, keep going until you find the one that does.
This is the best way I know to show you how to achieve what I’ve achieved, and I want that for you so bad.
No one deserves to be stuck in the prison of morbid obesity. Especially not now that I’ve got the keys, guys.
